Not all paddles are created equal. Just like a motor vehicle with the basic four tyres and a steering wheel does not make it a race car. Burnwater has been making premium dragon boat paddles for over 15 years. We were one of the first to manufacture a full carbon fibre paddle. Made in the USA quality, performance is something we live and breathe by. So if you are in the market for premium quality carbon fibre paddles these are some of the features you need to consider.
All Burnwater dragon boat paddles use our proprietary once piece construction process that allow us to make the blade and the shaft in one piece for strength and reduced weight. Both paddles incorporate our three layer carbon fibre blade that is known for one of the cleanest entries, solid catch, durable face/edges/tip.
The difference is that the Wildfire now comes with in colours: Black, Red, and Carbon Grey, with one handle option. This makes for a great intermediate to beginner level paddle with a more pronounced swing weight for better control on the recovery. The Reactor II on the other hand is a high performance paddle that is one of the lightest, stiffest, durable paddle out there. If you want nothing less than the best, then the Reactor II is the one for you.
A one piece carbon fibre paddle where the blade and the shaft are made in one step is lighter, stronger and more responsive. You know what joints are for.
Check your entry, if it splashes, kerplops or chips very easily it's not a Burnwater. We add additional reinforcement on the tip/edges for more durability.
Ask how may layers of carbon does your paddle have. Our paddles are triple layered to hold up to the dings, also incorporating extra reinforcement around the tips and edges.
Other blade faces that do not have a smooth edge and face will cavitate, create bubbles for you and the paddler behind you… Save the champagne for the podium.
Burnwater paddles are made in the USA, with great attention to detail with the highest quality materials. We have a passion for making paddles and hope to share that love.
We believe it is important to try a paddle on water before you decide on your investment. We are one of the few manufacturers that will let you demo a paddle during your water training session or at a race. Please contact us (Sydney metropolitan areas only).
